Coaching- a Lever to Start the Flow

If you were expecting a definition of coaching, you will not find it in this post. Not because there is no definition. There are plenty of them, actually. Coaching is a lever to start the flow.It is not the final destination.

During my long-standing work experience with companies and people, I have noticed that the understanding of leadership principles goes smoothly for most. Many have learned leadership theory with ease. The moment of truth came with the first situation in which it was necessary to apply in practice what was learned. For many, leadership in practice is neither quick nor easy. They got stuck, stopped the flow. The coach is not meant to influence or give advice, as coaching is not mentorship. The mentor gives answers to your questions. The coach asks questions that only you can answer. Coaching is not psychotherapy either. Coaching is a relationship of equals, in which the coach and the client work together on a chosen goal. Everything is fine with you, you are able to see your own opportunities and barriers. Moreover, you are resourceful and, with the help, support and the right question you are able to choose the solution that you consider to be the best for you.
